President of Do Moore Good | Shuja is a passionate filmmaker and dedicated community advocate based in West Philadelphia. Shuja's commitment to narrative justice in media and empowering his community shines through his work in film and advocacy.

At 22, Shuja faced a life-altering experience after being arrested and ultimately convicted for an accidental murder following a struggle to gain possession of a firearm. After serving 12 years in prison, he was released in 2016, determined to create positive change. Since his return, Shuja has been instrumental in facilitating over a $1,000,000 in business and resident support for his community.

His outstanding contributions have earned him recognition, including being honored as a "Remodeled Citizen" by the Mayor's Office of Black Male Engagement and receiving the Community Service Award from the Division on People of Color and Crime at the American Society of Criminology.

Tobey is the former Executive Director of Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity and now serves as the Director for PLSE's Pardon Project. A 1979 graduate of Harvard University’s Law School and Kennedy School of Government, his Philadelphia legal career includes seventeen years in private practice, five as Chief Deputy City Solicitor, and six as General Counsel of Drexel University. He has a long record of public service, including twenty years as a trustee of Community Legal Services and leadership in creating three other non-profits providing free legal services to low-income Philadelphians: Philadelphia VIP, the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project, and the Homeless Advocacy Project. He began the Pardon Project in the fall of 2018.

Atif Bostic, an accomplished leader in community and economic development, currently serves as the President and CEO of Uplift Solutions, executive director of the Apierion Global Health Impact Fund, and managing partner for Leadership in Business. In his work, Atif focuses on developing comprehensive solutions, to solve complex problems, that drive measurable results for vulnerable individuals, communities, and businesses.

Over his 20+-year career, Atif has held senior leader positions within for-profit and nonprofit organizations to include Citizens Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Signature Financial, and Uplift Solutions. His work includes the development of a 12-state, $100 million retail business development program, the development of a one-of-a-kind workforce development program for formerly incarcerated individuals, strategic leadership of several multi-million-dollar economic and community development projects nationally, and financial turnarounds for several multi-million-dollar organizations.

Atif is very active in the community, serving in volunteer leadership roles for notable nonprofit organizations and government entities that include: The Urban League of Philadelphia, The American Heart Association, The Philadelphia OIC, the City of Philadelphia, the State of Pennsylvania, and PathWays, PA.

Calvin (Shuja) Moore is the current Operations Director at Masjid Al Jamia of Philadelphia. Masjid Al Jamia is one of the largest Islamic masjids (mosques) in Philadelphia, serving thousands of Muslims with its’ Jumuah prayers. Jamia also provides services to the community including health fairs, free food, resource information, and spiritual advice. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Religious Studies. He is a former District Manager at SEPTA, retired in 2015. He also graduated from the University of Phoenix with an MBA to support his managerial experience with SEPTA and his current management at Al Jamia.

Calvin has spent many years serving his community and upon his graduation from Penn, he worked at Walnut Hill CDC, as a Project Manager for their Anti-Crime Team for Safety Program. He followed that with teaching English and Social Studies at many of the private Islamic schools in Philadelphia region. Surviving the rough streets of Baltimore City, Maryland, Calvin is dedicated to improving the lives of the underrepresented and underprivileged people from urban cities.

Rev. Simmons is the Founder and CEO of Why Not Prosper, Inc., a grassroots 501C3 organization located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA. The organization’s mission is to help women in the prison system to discover their own strength and to empower them to become responsible, economically self-sufficient and contributing members of the community. Since that time, the organization has assisted hundreds of women make a smooth transition from prison to community. As a formerly incarcerated woman, she has a deep understanding of the needs of women in the prison system. Her organization now provides Pre-release Mentoring to incarcerated women at Muncy and Cambridge Springs Prisons. Description goes here

David Richardson is a highly accomplished professional with over 15 years of experience in management positions within the hospitality industry. Born and raised in West Philadelphia, he deeply understands the unique challenges and opportunities faced by the community. As a board member David brings a valuable combination of financial expertise and strategic mindset.

Founder/Director Philly SAFE | Tariq Moore, a West Philadelphian, born and raised in a close-knit neighborhood, Tariq developed a strong sense of community from an early age. Recognizing the challenges faced by many he made it his mission to serve his community by creating opportunity through various initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for those around him. With a passion for outreach and fitness, he has become a prominent figure in promoting physical and mental well-being among individuals of all backgrounds. Realizing the transformative power of exercise, he has made it his personal mission to inspire others to lead healthier lifestyles. Whether it's organizing food drives, volunteering at local shelters, or mentoring opportunity youth, Tariq consistently demonstrates his unwavering commitment to uplifting fellow community members.

Volunteer | Sarah moved to Philadelphia from Lewisburg Pa to participate in a year of service, an Americorps program called City Year. Serving the 9th grade at Frankford High School she further saw the inequities in the education system and the compounding consequences that was having on youth. This is where Sarah found her “why”, which is to be a champion for those needing additional support overcoming barriers similar in the way her champions made a monumental impact on her. A product of the CJ system, Sarah works in Diversion, Education, and Higher Ed developing and supporting programming while also advocating for policy change to best support Philadelphians.

Volunteer | An executive with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Angelique has made a lasting impact on individuals and communities in need. A Philadelphia native, she intimately understands the unique challenges faced by marginalized populations and is deeply committed to creating equitable access to mental health resources.

Bookkeeper | Julie is an art lover and amateur musician with 30 years of experience on the administrative side of arts organizations and creative small businesses. She's been preparing tax returns for individuals and single-member LLCs since she became a member of this collective in 2015. She also has experience preparing returns for multi-member LLCs, S Corps, and small non-profits, and working with international clients, including non-resident aliens and expats. In addition, Julie provides bookkeeping services for artists, non-profits, and small businesses, including the preparation and filing of forms 1099-NEC. She plays and sings in rock 'n' roll bands, spends chunks of time every year in Spain, and loves to travel and experience diverse cultures. Julie habla Español.
